  1. The problem is a logical one with all information useful.
There are 5 houses, they have different colours and different people live in different houses, drink different drinks and wear different shoes. So..

From point 10 we know that the first house is where the Dane lives. From point 15 we know that the next house is blue. From point 9 we know milk is drunk in the middle house. We know from point 6 the green house is next to the ivory. That leaves one more house which is the red where the Scot live (point 2). So far we know house 1 (Dane, colour unknown) house 2 (blue) house 3 (Scot, red, milk) house 4 (green, coffee), house 5 (ivory),

From point 8 brothel creepers is worn in yellow house, as all other colour of houses is know except one, which is where the Dane stays. So house 1 (Dane, yellow, brothel creepers). From point 12 we know where the horse is kept so house 2 (blue, horse). From point 11 we know that is cant be house 1 & 2 because horse is in house 2. Also it cant be house 4 because we know from point 13 orange is drank by the slipper wearer, and house 4 drinks coffee. It can only be house 2 hence house(Blue, Birkenstocks) House 3 (Scot, Red, Milk, ) house 4 (ivory) house 5 (Green, Coffee,).

Thus far we know House 1 (Dane, Yellow, Brothel Creeper, Fox). House 2 (Blue, Horse, Birkenstock) House 3 (Scot, Red Milk, ), House 4 (Ivory) House 5 (Green, Coffee,) Also from point 3 we now house 4 (African, Dog, Ivory), because it can’t be 1, 2, 3, or 5 because different people, animas are in those other house. From point 5 we know now know House 2 (Arab, Blue, Horse) From point 14 the only other house with a person is House 4. Now we know from point 7 the only house without an animal is House 3. We now know from point 13 the only house with shoes is house 5. From point 7 we know house 3 (Scot, Red, Milk, Snail, Brogue), since all other have an animal already.

So thus far why we know is
House 1 (Dane, Yellow, Brothel Creeper, Fox)
House 2 (Arab, Blue, Horse, Tea, Birkenstock )
House 3 (Scot, Red Milk, Snail, Brogues),
House 4 (African, Dog, Orange, Ivory. Slipper)
House 5 (Japanese, Green, Coffee, Havaianas)

Finally by process of elimination the only person without a drink is the Dane in House 1 Hence the person who drinks water is he Dane, By the same logic you can now guess who owns the Zebra.
