It is that time of the year, when we all plan to see and spend time with friends and family, make new year resolutions that we may or not keep in after the first few weeks of the new year. We review Christmas markets around the world, and highlight the ones we believe are really worth visiting this year. They are in no any particular order, as to make it to our list is challenging enough.
Starting our list is Canada’s Toronto Christmas market, as one of those that people really enjoy. Spread across cobbled roads with large Christmas tree, lights, shops everywhere and located close to a distillery. It is well worth a place and has several mentions on multiple Christmas experience list.
Next on our list is Strasbourg Christmas market which unfortunately, saw the horrible attack recently this month. However, we believe such a rare case should not put you off this Christmas market. Founded in 1570, it is one of the oldest Christmas in the world and walking through this Christmas market, it is easy to understand and see the quality of the Christmas market experience.
Another Christmas well worth visiting is located in the Scandinavia city of Copenhagen in Denmark. Tivoli Garden Christmas market is a fairly tell made real with Christmas treats, rides and a magically atmosphere more likely to be seen in Disneyland than you local Christmas market.
Not to be out done, the Bank of America Winter Village at Bryant Park, New York makes our list as one of the best Christmas market worth visiting. With an ice rig surrounded by the shops in glass houses and a warm atmosphere is it well worth a visit.
Appearing on our list are two additional Scandinavia Christmas markets. Firstly the Christmas Market in Oslo, with its dazzling lights, exquisite Christmas treats from mulled wine to baked delicacies you would not want to miss this market.
Also the down to earth Christmas market in Stockholm, Sweden is one to be seen. With its niche design and people oriented market you will feel right at home.
The Berlin Christmas market also makes it on our list. Spread across the city centre with light Christmas tree and of course mulled wine and beer that would make you want to spend time exploring and savouring each drink.
One of our favourite on the list, is Edinburgh, Scotland Christmas market, spread across the beautiful city landscape. With beautiful gardens, celtic designs and shops, city lights, ice rigs, rides and that cosy atmosphere, that you only get during the Christmas.
Another Christmas market from the United Kingdom on the list includes, Frankfurt Christmas Market in Birmingham UK. It bring together Christmas design and spirt like something from a German city market. However, not to be confused it is an English city and well worth the visit.
Others Christmas market that make our list and worth visiting include Krakow, Poland, Hong Kong, Basel, Switzerland, Barcelona, Spain, Moscow, Russia, Tallin, Estonia. Manchester, UK, Zagreb, Croatia and Brussel, Belgium
